The Problem
Redis is a tool most backend developers use every day without seeing inside it. Building a compatible server is the most direct way to understand the wire protocol, in-memory data structures, and how persistence survives a restart.
What I Built
RESP Protocol
Parses the Redis Serialization Protocol over TCP, so existing Redis clients can talk to it for basic functionality.
AOF Persistence
Writes to an append-only file so data survives restarts.
Core Data Types
Strings (SET, GET, DEL, INCR, EXISTS), hashes (HSET, HGET, HDEL, HGETALL), lists (LPUSH, RPUSH, LPOP, RPOP, LLEN), and sets (SADD, SREM, SCARD, SISMEMBER).
CLI, SDK, and Dashboard
Install the CLI with go install, use the Go SDK from your own code, or manage the server from the built-in React dashboard.
